The Beauty of Dumaguete - The People (1) - Retire Dumaguete and Siquijor

The Beauty of Dumaguete – The People

Hands down, the most beautiful element of my retirement to Dumaguete is the people. Dumaguete has the been given the name, “The City of gentle People” and it is definitely a moniker that is well deserved. Whenever a do some  traveling to many places in the Philippines, then return home here, the first thing that strikes me is how warm and friendly the locals are and how they have made me feel right at home. though in general, The Philippines culture is open and welcoming, there is just something about the people of Dumaguete that makes this place something special.

To showcase the people of Dumaguete, I have relied on the work of two local expats, Gary Webb from New Zealand and Vincent Lecolly from France. Their work captures the essence of the beauty of Dumaguete through it people ant their culture, through the eyes our won expat eyes. This particular post will be part 1 in the series and showcases the work of Gary, but please do not miss part 2 by Vincent.
