A Great Example of a Loving Filipina and Foreigner Couple
Phil is originally from England. His wife Marites is Pinay. Phil is in his early seventies. Marites is forty-five. Phil’s work as an engineer found him living in many countries all over the world. It was while he was working in Qatar that he first met Marites. In typical engineer manner, Phil conducted thorough research before finally agreeing with the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) that Dumaguete was the best place in the Philippines to retire.
Phil and Marites enjoy the convivial atmosphere they experience in Dumaguete. Both experience a solid balance to their lives here that provides them with the relaxed way of life they had been seeking. They enjoy the warmth of local people and also the low cost of living. Marites stays in great condition by teaching Zumba dancing three times weekly in Quezon Park.
Phil is an active, outdoors person. While the C19 situation has temporarily curbed some of his activities, he still enjoys playing tennis, billiards, snooker, and cycling. Phil enthusiastically confirms his experience since coming to live in Dumaguete has exceeded his original expectations. For him, his relationship with Marites is the icing on the cake.
